The SPINOGY X22 HF Spindle motor in action

KD Design (Dave)
CNC enthousiast / Spinogy user

Dave about the X22:

"The experience with this spindle is just outstanding. The build quality, the

performance and the design is just flawless. How SPINOGY managed to

pack so much power in this size form factor is incredible."

"The spindle runs super smooth and really has enough power even for

heavier cuts."

"The way how the spindle mounts to the z plate is one of a kind…They

(SPINOGY) made it possible to mount the spindle from the back or from the

front. You don’t have to buy a spindle mount separately."

 More words from Dave:

“After I built the first machine I started posting on Instagram. And this is where it really

started. I got some really good feedback from my followers. Also I made some nice friends.

The community we´re in is so nice and powerful! Many people really underestimate those

facts.

I´m using my machine to create signs and pictures out of various materials. Next to that

I’m also machining some aluminum parts for my new CNC machine which I´m still

designing.

With the X22 from SPINOGY the machine setup really works like a charm. I´m so happy and proud to have one of their spindles on my machine. This piece of equipment really is a masterpiece.

This hobby very satisfying to me, because you can see how the machine moves and turns a

solid piece of wood into a piece of art which started, at first, as an idea in your head.”

About Dave:

Dave is a self-taught CNC enthusiast. Because of his interested in CNC

machines, Dave decided about 6 years ago to start building his own CNC

machine.

Dave’s first CNC build wasn´t as nice as planned. For his first design he used

stepper motors and a Kress 1050 as spindle. For Dave, it was a proof of

concept, very crude but it worked.

Worth to mention, this machine was built without the use of any CAD

software. It actually was created from his imagination!

From there on it didn´t take Dave long to get into CAD design and start

designing his first real CNC, which actually never got built. At least not in the

way he planned it.

This machine has a never ending list of improvements over the years.

The machine Dave is using right now is basically the 6th and last iteration of his first CAD design.

Special thanks to KD Design.

Fabian about the X22:

(in combination with an Omron inverter)

"The Spinogy X22 spindle motor has a nice finish and feels very high quality and well build. For the power rating at 2.2Kw, the weight of the motor is very light."

"The mounting system from the front is a bit tricky and I would recommend the mounting option from the back. Still, it is good to have both options."

"The X22 has a lower power rating then the 3kW China spindle I had before,  so I am missing a little bit of torque at high RPMS compared to the 3kW spindle. Nevertheless, on the low RPMS the performance is really strong, especially for drilling holes in aluminium. The motor responds very quick to power demands and the spindle performs very smooth up to 30k rpm."

"As soon as it is available, I will get a power upgrade to 3kW. It is really awesome to have the higher power rating in the SAME casing. Thats about half the weight of the China spindle!"

"The support from Spinogy is really superb. You get answers soon and they help out a lot."

Who is Fabian?

Fabian started 8 years ago with milling CNC parts for his RC planes.

The projects got bigger through the years and at the moment Fabian is enjoying milling on his  second CNC machine, built by himself.

With this bigger machine he's doing mostly custom objects out of wood.  For example fighter plane bottle openers, wooden sinks, signs which are for sale, but also 3D parts such as molds for RC planes.
