Design with aluminium.
Versatile CNC machines.
CHRIS
BENOOT
Started as a hobby in 2012 making audio devices for the home studio. The need soon arose to modify and personalize the built devices. But, the limit of what was possible with the available tools and equipment was soon reached.
For the electronic part, the right equipment could be purchased , but for the mechanical aspect, to obtain a better quality, the need for a CNC machine was triggered.
In 2016, a cheap DIY CNC kit was purchased to be able to go a step further. Due to the years of experience as a service technician, the interest in electronics and mechanics as well as the urge for improvement, the light DIY machine was converted into a more mature machine that was able to mill aluminium.
Once aluminium could be milled, it soon became clear that it was time to design a machine that met the requirements to achieve the specified requirements in terms of finish and accuracy. It had to and could be better and faster.
After 1 year of drawing, calculating and milling, a 1st prototype of a 3 axis CNC-machine was born. That prototype was the first machine that was capable of manufacturing parts in an acceptable manner. With this prototype a 2nd and eventually after a lot of updates, a 3rd and more definitive version was produced. Milling feed rates are 200 till 300% higher and milling depths up to 1000% deeper than what was possible with the cheap DIY kit.
The finish and precision of the manufactured parts quickly raised to the acceptable level of my high demanding standards.
In 2021 I finally decided to give the hobby a professional character and make the services and equipment available.
In the meantime a fair amount of projects have already been successfully completed. Plans and the prototype for a more advanced 5 axis model are in full development and under construction.
The positive feedback from customers, the increased efficiency and the increased functionality of the CNC-machines are an excellent motivation to give Chris Benoot Solutions a bright future
